Wal-Mart unveils its top toy list and holiday layaway launch

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is already gearing up for the holidays, unveiling a toy selection that includes more than 400 items exclusive to the retail giant, and announcing the launch of its layaway program on Friday.

Among the exclusives are a Star Wars collector figure, a Batman v. Superman Dawn of Justice Batcave playset, and a Razor PowerCore E100 Electric Scooter. The number of toy exclusives this year is about the same as last year, according to a spokesperson.

In seeking out exclusives, Anne Marie Kehoe, Walmart U.S.’s
vice president of toys, said the company was looking for unique items, “seeing a void” and looking to fill it. The retail giant also paired with brands to create new toys.

Among the selected toys are the Num Noms Lip Gloss Truck that lets kids make their own lip gloss, the Doc McStuffins Hospital Care Cart, based on the popular Walt Disney Co.
character, and the My Little Pony
