This is the joke from former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton that cuts right to the issue dogging her presidential ambitions at the moment.
For those who didn’t watch the video, she joked at an Iowa campaign event on Friday:
“You may have seen that I recently launched a Snapchat account,” she said. “I love it. I love it. Those messages disappear all by themselves.”
That’s a reference to the controversy surrounding the private email server she set up while serving as secretary of state for President Barack Obama. This week Federal Bureau of Investigation agents reportedly were searching to see who passed highly classified information from secure networks to Clinton’s personal accounts.
“I never sent or received any emails marked ‘classified,’ “ Clinton said Saturday, according to NPR’s account of an Iowa campaign stop. She dismissed her accusers as engaging in “the usual politicization, if I just invented a word.”
The continued controversy has helped her main rival at the moment, Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, pass her in one New Hampshire poll. Meanwhile, reports continue to circulate that Vice President Joe Biden is considering a late entry into the race to become the Democratic presidential nominee.
