“Turns out it’s way harder to strangle someone to death than it looks on the movies. She fought so damn hard.” Those are the chilling words David Kalac apparently wrote on 4chan, the cyber-forum that came under fire a few months back when all the celebrity nudes were released.
But this is plumbing new levels of depravity. Even for the Internet.
Kalac is believed to have posted photos of the murder victim, Amber Lynn Coplin, a 30-year-old mother of four, about 35 minutes before her body was found in Port Orchard, Washington. The grisly images, now deleted, were of Coplin lying on her bed with what appeared to be strangulation marks around her neck, according to the Smoking Gun.
“Check the news for Port Orchard, Washington in a few hours,” the anonymous 4chan user, believed to be Kalac, posted on Tuesday. He added that the victim’s son “will be home from school soon. He’ll find her, then call the cops. I just wanted to share the pics before they find me.”
He also said he’d pull a BB gun on the authorities when found in an attempt at “suicide by cop”.
Her body was, indeed, was found by her 13-year-old son, the Associated Press reported. But Kalac’s plans to end his life at the hands of his captors didn’t come to pass. He was arrested without incident Wednesday night about 20 miles outside of Portland.
