Lions Gate Entertainment Corp.
will acquire the vast majority of Spyglass Media Group LLC’s feature film library, giving the company a roughly 20% investment stake in the content company and access to roughly 200 titles, including the “Scream” franchise and the “Project Runway” series.
The multi-year agreement includes a first-look television deal between Lions Gate’s TV unit and the content creator, the companies said.
Spyglass Chairman and CEO Gary Barber will continue to lead the company and its senior management team will retain their current roles.
As part of the deal, Lions Gate will gain access to popular titles such as “Fruitvale Station,” “The King’s Speech,” “Paddington” and “Silver Linings Playbook.”
