Bed Bath & Beyond to offer paid parental leave, close stores on Thanksgiving

Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. on Monday said it would offer new benefits to associates, including paid parental leave, and will close its stores on Thanksgiving to allow associates to be with family.

Bed Bath & Beyond
said it would offer up to eight weeks paid parental leave to parents after the birth, adoption or fostering of a new child. The company also said it was instituting a company-paid short-term disability policy and was founding an associate relief fund. The short-term disability plan will provide 100% of pay for up to eight weeks and 60% afterwards for up to 26 weeks. Bed Bath and Beyond said it would fund its associate relief fund and also match 50% of donations from associates, up to $500,000, for the rest of the fiscal year.

Bed Bath & Beyond, buybuy BABY and Harmon Face Values will close stores in Canada October 11 in observance of Thanksgiving and in the U.S. will close on November 25 for the Thanksgiving holiday, the company said.
