American Express, Caterpillar share gains lead Dow’s 513-point rally


Led by positive momentum for shares of American Express and Caterpillar, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is rallying Monday morning. Shares of American Express

and Caterpillar

are contributing to the index’s intraday rally, as the Dow
DJIA,
-0.14%
was most recently trading 513 points, or 1.5%, higher. American Express’s shares are up $4.51 (2.9%) while those of Caterpillar have climbed $5.75 (2.8%), combining for an approximately 68-point boost for the Dow. Chevron
CVX,
-1.10%,
Dow Inc.
DOW,
-0.57%,
and Cisco
CSCO,
+0.03%
are also contributing significantly to the gain. A $1 move in any of the Dow’s 30 components results in a 6.58-point swing.
