AMC Networks Inc. on Tuesday said Josh Sapan, its president and chief executive, would become executive vice chairman and named Matthew Blank as its interim leader.
Mr. Sapan has been president and CEO of the company for 26 years, having started those roles when the company was known as Rainbow Media, AMC Networks said. Mr. Blank, who has worked as CEO and chairman of Showtime Networks, would work in the role of interim CEO while AMC Networks looks for a replacement for Mr. Sapan, the company said.
AMC Networks said that Mr. Blank resigned from Madison Square Garden Entertainment Corp.’s board to take on the interim CEO role. AMC Networks and Madison Square Garden Entertainment are controlled by the Dolan family.
